How often does therapy occur? Therapy usually occurs once a week, however, sessions may happen more or less frequently depending on your needs.

How long will I be in therapy? For some clients, only a few sessions are needed, and for others, longer-term work is more appropriate. The duration of your therapy will depend on several factors, including the severity and complexity of the problem, your therapeutic goals, the quality of social support outside of our meetings, and your motivation to engage in therapeutic activities inside and outside of sessions.

Is what I say in therapy confidential? Yes, what is shared in therapy is confidential, apart from a few legal exceptions. Confidentiality exists so you can speak honestly and openly in therapy, to obtain the help you need.

What is a sliding fee scale? A sliding fee scale means a therapist offers a slide from the standard payment rate based on the client's financial situation. This is generally a reduced fee for those who cannot afford the standard therapy rate. I offer a sliding fee scale and determine the rate on each person’s unique situation.

Do you prescribe medication? No. I do not prescribe medications. My education allows me to have informed conversations about medication with my clients, and refer them to psychiatry providers if appropriate.

How do I contact you in the event of an emergency? If you have an emergency requiring immediate attention, please contact 911 or Psychiatric Emergency Services at (415) 206-8125.
